Homebirth is about more than where you give birth.
It is an approach to care built around relationship, individualized support, informed decision-making, and trust in the physiologic process of pregnancy and birth. My role as your midwife is to bring clinical knowledge, experience, and careful assessment alongside the time and space to understand what matters to you.

Throughout pregnancy, labor, birth, and the first six weeks postpartum, care includes ongoing clinical assessment and education, but also conversation, preparation, shared decision-making, and the relationship we build along the way. I believe you are the expert in your own experience. My responsibility is to offer information, recommendations, and skilled clinical care while respecting your values, questions, choices, and autonomy.

Homebirth isn't the right setting for every pregnancy, and our commitment is never to homebirth at all costs.

Safety includes ongoing assessment throughout care, honest conversations when circumstances change, and collaboration or transfer to a higher level of care when it is needed.

Midwifery Care with OHMI

I provide comprehensive homebirth midwifery care as co-founder and Clinical Director of **OHMI Midwives**, a community-based midwifery practice serving families throughout Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan.

Our approach brings together the honored practices of traditional midwifery, current evidence and clinical assessment, intuition, experience, and appropriate collaboration with modern healthcare.

Cultural humility, safety, autonomy, and informed decision-making are foundational to our care. We care for low-risk, healthy pregnant people while continually assessing maternal and fetal well-being throughout pregnancy, labor, birth, and postpartum.

Homebirth care is relationship-based by design. Prenatal visits allow time not only for clinical assessment, but also for education, questions, preparation, and the conversations that help us know one another before the day you give birth.
